Aaron Judge is a free agent but the New York Yankees are more than willing to bring him back as many teams are interested in him.
Aaron Judge is heading to the free agency and many teams are interested in signing him up. Judge is expected to be crowned as the AL MVP for the 2022 season and due to it, he is about to get paid big time.
In the 2022 season, Aaron Judge hit .311/.425/.686 with an American League-record of 62 homers and 131 RBIs. He is expected to be the most sought player in free agency this season. A player of his caliber with such a historic season has never entered the free agency and we can expect a bidding war for him.
New York Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman is aware of Judge’s importance and recently talked about how he is a symbol in New York and what he means to the team.
Talking about Judge’s importance to the Yankees, Cashman said, “When you make these commitments on players, you know he’s a fan favorite. He interacts with our fans extremely well. He’s respected within that clubhouse, handles his business as good as you possibly can. He’s an elite performer — among the game’s best, if not the best player. With all that being said, those are the types of players you want to retain and have as long as you possibly can.”

The New York Yankees desperately want to bring back their star slugger and keep him locked in for the foreseeable future. If he leaves New York we expect to see major changes around the franchise.
Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees were not able to extend his contract with the team last season as Judge wanted to get paid more than the offered amount. As a result, the outfielder decided to bet on himself and put on a historic season. This has raised his value enormously and GM Brian Cashman believes Judge deserves to get paid big time.
Talking about it, Cashman added, “[Judge is] going to dictate the dance steps to his free agency and he has worked extremely hard to earn this position, so we’ll see how this plays out. It can tie you up a little bit along the way, but he’s not the only guy that we’re needing to deal with. He’s the most important, but if he came in here today and said, ‘Oh, man, I’m signing up, let’s go,’ there’s still a lot of work to be done.”
Teams like the San Francisco Giants, New York Mets, and Los Angeles Dodgers will be interested to sign Aaron Judge once the free agency starts, and whether or not the Yankees will be able to keep their star player will be interesting to see.
