Patricio Pitbull beat AJ McKee to claim the Bellator Featherweight title
Bellator 277 had a huge main event with AJ McKee defending his Featherweight title against Patricio Pitbull.
McKee had defeated Pitbull to win the title back in Bellator 263, and many considered him to be the best Featherweight across all promotions.
The pair put on a show for the millions watching across the world. The fight went the full distance, unlike their meeting at Bellator 263.
In the end, it was Pitbull who got the win, via unanimous decision and celebrated reclaiming the title.
Former UFC two division champion Henry Cejudo, who has been out of action for a while, was quick to react to the crowning of Pitbull.
This was McKee’s first loss in his professional MMA career, and it came as a shock to the American.
McKee is now 18-1 but he was told after round four that he had won all four rounds, according to his coach.
The shock and disbelief on McKee’s face was there for all to see as Pitbull was named the winner.
McKee was considered as the best Featherweight by some, and it will be interesting to see what is next for him.
He should get a rematch against Pitbull since this was a bit of a close fight. The loss should fire up McKee even more and we could see another banger if the pair meet.
