PFL superstar Kaya Harrison and Bellator women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg engage in a Twitter back and forth
Kayla Harrison’s free-agent saga continues to unfold, and in the latest state of play, PFL has matched Kayla Harrison’s offer from Bellator.
This temporarily rules out the possibility of a fight between Harrison and Cris Cyborg. The ever-ready to engage, Cyborg reacted to this news on Twitter with multiple eye emojis, suggesting that Kayla bottled her opportunity. This provoked a reaction out of Harrison who said,
“Hey @criscyborg @ me if you have something to say,” Harrison quote tweeted. “I’m so sick of this shit. @AmericanTopTeam’s addy is 5750 sr 7 coconut creek fl. I’m there 6 days a week.”
Kayla is beyond frustrated at her current contract situation, and after she took multiple digs at the Brazilian, Cyborg finally blocked her from Twitter. Kayla posted a picture of her Twitter account, that showed Cyborg blocked her.
Harrison then tweeted:
“Dang it. I went too far. Cris please fight me! I won’t use judo just wrestling.”
When asked why by a fan, Cyborg replied by saying that she reminds her of Rousey, who wanted to fight her on multiple occasions but squandered the opportunity.
“No. I remember Ronda use to mention my name but NEVER really wanted to fight me. You remind me Ronda.”
The possibility of this fight materializing does not look likely in the near future.
‘Leveling up’- Cris Cyborg trains with Henry Cejudo
Cris Cyborg is latest in a growing list of fighters training at Fight Ready alongside ‘Triple C’. She joins an elite group of fighters who joined the Arizona based gym and showed massive improvements in their all-round game.
Cyborg last fought Sinead Kavanagh at Bellator 271, and won the fight by knockout. Rumors have surfaced that a potential super fight between her and two-time Olympic Judo gold medalist Kayla Harrison is reportedly under works.
At Fight Ready, the coaches alongside Cejudo have been able to crack the code of grappling in modern-day MMA, and their fighters have shown improvements by leaps and bounds. This might prove to be utilitarian for Cyborg, especially if her fight against Kayla comes to fruition.
Cris Cyborg posted a picture of them post-training, captioning it ‘Levllin Up’. She also hinted at potential fight news in the future.
