The Argentine duo of Gonzalez and Molteni will take on sixth seeds Glasspool and Heliovaara in the Round of 16 at the Monte-Carlo Masters
Lloyd Glasspool and Harri Heliovaara are a seasoned duo, and they are coming into this match as favourites. They beat Wawrinka and Mahut 6-3, 6-4 in the first round and will be high on confidence. The No.6 seeds are expected to go a long way in the tournament and there is certainly no room for complacency.
Glasspool and Heliovaara suffered two consecutive quarter-finals exits at the Indian Wells and the Miami Open before coming into this event. Their best performance so far this season has come at the Dubai Tennis Championships in March, where they finished as runners-up. The experienced duo will be aiming to win their first silverware of the season at Monte-Carlo.
Gonzalez and Molteni’s form coming into the match at Monte Carlo Masters
The all-Argentine duo of Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni are coming into this match after a convincing straight sets victory in the first round against Middelkoop and Cressy. They aren’t as experienced as their opponents but certainly gave a good account of themselves during their quarter-finals run at the Miami Open last week.
Gonzalez and Molteni’s best performance so far this year came at the Rio Open, where they went all the way to clinch the title. The Argentines will be looking to replicate that form and cause a major upset against the No.6 seeds in Monte-Carlo.

Head to head and Predictions
Glasspool/Heliovaara and Gonzalez/Molteni have never played each other before on the ATP tour. This is the first professional head-to-head clash between the two pairs. Glasspool and Heliovaara are the outright favourites going into this match both in terms of form and rankings. It will be an uphill task for Gonzalez and Molteni in this encounter against the sixth seeds, but they are expected to pose a tough challenge. However, we expect the veteran duo to see off the Argentine challenge and win in three sets.
