The talented Italian youngster began the season by reaching the quarterfinals of the Adelaide International 1 with wins against Kyle Edmund and Thanasi Kokkinakis. In Montpellier though, he has made it to the quarterfinals without even laying foot on the court.

After receiving a bye into the round of 16, Sinner was scheduled to play Marton Fucsovics. The Hungarian athlete pulled out of the tournament prior to the encounter. Sinner is one of the strong favorites to win the competition. He would be raring to go after playing his last match on January 22 against Stefanos Tsitsipas in the fourth round of the Australian Open.

Lorenzo Sonego

The 27-year-old came into the tournament with just 1 win and 3 losses in 2023. He has managed to win both his matches in straight sets in the Montpellier Open against two good players.
