The experienced Spaniard has had a good start to the season. He played in the Adelaide International 1 and defeated Andrey Rublev in the first round before losing to Sebastian Korda in the second round. In the Adelaide International 2, Bautista Agut finished runner-up.
In the Australian Open, the 34-year-old made it to the fourth round with wins against Joao Sousa, Brandon Holt, and Andy Murray. The fourth round saw Bautista Agut lose to Tommy Paul in four sets. In the Montpellier Open, Bautista Agut received a bye into the second round.
Arthur Fils
The 18-year-old Frenchman has shown great form in 2023. He started off by winning a Challenger event in Oeiras. He followed it up with a run to the finals in another Challenger event in Quimper.
Fils began his campaign at the Montpellier Open with a stunning win against compatriot Richard Gasquet. The youngster won the match 7-5, 7-5 to defeat the veteran. This win would have surely boosted his confidence. It was also Fils’ first win at the ATP level.
