Top seed Martina Trevisan will face the challenge of Jana Fett in the second round of the Morocco Open
Martina Trevisan is the top seed at the Morocco Open and one of the favourites to win the tournament. She has come to this tournament at the back of a shock first-round exit from the Italian Open on home turf. However, she seems to have brushed it off as a one-off loss and looks completely focused on the job at hand.
The Italian star is aiming to put on a good display in this tournament and set a positive tone for the main draw of the all-important French Open, scheduled to start next week.
The No.1 seed received a walkover in her opening round match against Spain’s Nuria Parrizas-Diaz. Trevisan won the first set 6-2 and soon after, her opponent decided to withdraw from the match due to an injury. The Italian will now face Croatia’s Jana Fett and will certainly be confident about her chances. It remains to be seen if Trevisan can live up to the expectations and go all the way to clinch the title.

Jana Fett has been very impressive so far at the Morocco Open. She has overcome two rounds of qualifiers to make it to the main draw. She then went on to defeat Sada Nahimana 6-0, 6-4 to progress to the second round. The job will only get tougher now for the Croatian as she is set to rub shoulders with the big girls of women’s tennis. It remains to be seen if the 26-year-old has what it takes to pull off a major upset against the top seed Martina Trevisan.
