The Mortal Kombat 1 Tier List is something for fans to embrace while playing this brutal fighting game.
Every fighting game has characters that are slightly overpowered and are fan favorites. Let us break down the fighters in Mortal Kombat 1 and rate them according to their ease of use and fighting capability. This is a purely personal opinion as a Mortal Kombat 1 player. I might not be a professional but I have been playing Mortal Kombat 1 for a long time so this is my breakdown.
The picture attached below categorizes all fighters in the game and the explanation for why these characters are on their respective tier is followed.

These characters are the best of the best in the game. They have great moves, combos and amazing special moves to pummel opponents. They are easy to pick and play while being effective enough. The characters included in S-tier are:
My personal favorite in the bunch is Peacemaker as the developers went all out in creating this character. Just play him to know what I mean.
These fighters lack a few things such as air combos and juggles but can easily be considered the best in the game. The major difference being hard to pull of special moves and overall rigidity while playing. The characters in A-tier include:
Obviously, my personal favorite is Baraka as there is a great satisfaction using his arm blades in the game.
Ok, here comes the decent characters also known as fodder. These characters have flaws that are noticable enough and give an obvious advantage to the opponent. In any fighting game, the frame rate data matters and these characters have bad animations that are punishable while using them. This list includes:
Smoke is the most decent character in this list for competitive play.
Ok here comes the pain for players and pleasure for opponents. These characters have very noticable issues with their gameplay and give a decent disadvantage for players. Slow animations, barely effective special moves and rough gameplay make them the worst of the bunch. Included fighters are:
Omniman is my favorite of the bunch for purely a fan service reason. One of the best written characters in my opinion.
This tier list is purely fan based and this does not mean that lower tier characters are unplayable. With enough skill, any player can master a fighter and dominate opponents.
