Mustafa Ali, real name Adeel Alam, is a 34-year-old Asian-American wrestler that is making the waves in WWE.
The son of South Asian parents, Ali didn’t start off his career as a wrestler but was a police officer in Chicago.
He took that job up to support his family but was able to chase his dream after four years on the job.
Ali idolized WWE legend Bret Hart and also was inspired from the likes of Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, the Hardy Boyz and Chris Jericho.
The 34-year-old is a high-flyer like some of his heroes but Ali has taken a different kind of role in his recent WWE outings.
Mustafa Ali Net worth and salary
The net worth of Mustafa Ali, according to some outlets, is over $1million but this information isn’t currently available in the year 2021.
WWE stars normally make six-figure salaries at least if they are on the main brand, and Ali could be earning something similar given that he is now a staple on Raw.
His salary and net worth will be updated as soon as more clarity is available.
Mustafa Ali Early career
Ali worked in several independent promotions in his early career and made his in-ring debut in 2003.
He had stints in Jersey All Pro Wrestling, National Wrestling Alliance, Proving Ground Pro, All American Wrestling and several other promotions.
Ali would also wear a mask to avoid being discriminated against and worked night shifts as a police officer too.
Mustafa Ali WWE Career
Ali’s big break came in 2016 when he was given a shot to feature on the Cruiserweight Classic tournament since Zumbi was unable to compete.
Ali was eliminated early from the tournament but impressed WWE officials to get a shot on NXT and he teamed up with Lince Dorado to feature in the Dusty Rhodes classic.
The 34-year-old then was a regular for the 205 Live brand that featured cruiserweights alone. Ali got another break as he was taken to SmackDown in 2018 despite never winning the cruiserweight title.
Things started off well for Ali but he was taken out of the 2019 Elimination Chamber match due to an injury. This saw Kofi Kingston to replace him and become a champion in the future.
Ali was part of the SmackDown team for Survivor Series and WWE even teased he was the hacker on SmackDown.
However, after months of inactivity, he moved to Raw and sided with Cedric Alexander, Ricochet and Apollo Crews.
Ali was tempted to join the Hurt Business but shocked the world by revealing himself to be the leader of the heel faction Retribution.
Mustafa Ali Family and wife
Mustafa Ali was born to a Pakistani father and an Indian mother in Bolingbrook, Illinois. The Asian-American was raised in Chicago and has two older brothers too.
Ali met his wife, Uzma, in 2010 and the pair got married in 2011. Ali and Uzma have a daughter and a son with the family posting several photos and videos on their social media accounts.
While some WWE stars try to keep their family life private, Ali is more than happy to share some incredible moments with his fans.
My wife told me she didn't receive encouragement to do sports when she was younger. We aren't letting that happen with our daughter. Support the #SheIs movement and encourage the young ladies in your life! pic.twitter.com/mNZicRyFeB
