Nate Archibald Career
Nathaniel “Tiny” Archibald was the 1970, Round 2, 19th overall draft pick by the Cincinnati Royals (now Sacramento Kings). Archibald played in the position of Point guard and he is also the 1981 NBA champion.
Archibald played one season of college basketball for Arizona Western College from 1966 to 1967. Then he transferred to the University of Texas, El Paso, and played there from 1967 to 1970.
After playing college basketball, Archibald was selected nineteenth overall in round two of the 1970 NBA Draft by the Cincinnati Royals (now Sacramento Kings).
Archibald played for the Cincinnati Royals from 1970 to 1976. During his time with the Cincinnati Royals / Kansas City Kings, Archibald created many NBA records.
In 1976, Archibald was traded to the New York Knicks. Unfortunately, while playing for the Knicks, Archibald was injured for most of the time. Then in 1977, Archibald was traded to the Buffalo Braves. Notably, he never played a regular-season game for the Braves as he tore his Achilles tendon.
In 1978, Archibald was traded to the Boston Celtics. With the Celtics, Archibald won his first and only NBA championship in the 1980–81 season alongside the NBA legend, Larry Bird.
Finally, in 1983, Archibald joined the Milwaukee Bucks. Subsequently, he ended his NBA career in 1984 with the Bucks.
Interestingly, for his phenomenal basketball career, Archibald is inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame as a player. He is also inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame.
