Predicted Swansea City line-up to face Rotherham United
Swansea City will travel to the New York Stadium as they gear up to take on relegation-threatened Rotherham United in the EFL Championship on Saturday.
The Swans come into the game on the back of consecutive victories against Blackburn Rovers (3-1) and Reading (2-0), both at home. However, they are without a win in their previous four matches on the road.
Currently placed 8th in the table, Graham Potter’s side has a good chance of breaking into the playoff spots, considering that they are just two points off of sixth-placed Derby County.
Team News
Jefferson Montero and Wilfried Bony are unlikely to be thrust back into action as they work towards gaining full fitness. Tom Carroll could find himself on the bench, having made a good recovery from his groin problem. Martin Olsson came off with a hamstring problem in the last game and might not be involved.
Here’s how the Welsh outfit could line up against Rotherham this weekend;
Manager: Graham Potter
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Kristoffer Nordfeldt (GK)
The Swedish shot-stopper had a good game against Reading at the weekend and should continue between the sticks this Saturday ahead of Erwin Mulder.
Kyle Naughton (RB)
The former Tottenham Hotspur man hasn’t been the most consistent of performers this term for the Swans and must look to change that against Rotherham.
Mike van der Hoorn (CB)
The 26-year-old was colossal in the win over Reading this past week. A guaranteed starter in the centre of the backline for Potter’s side.
Joe Rodon (CB)
The young academy man seems to be growing in confidence and stature with every passing game for the Swans’ first team. Should partner van der Hoorn.
Declan John (LB)
With Olsson coming off injured in the last game, summer signing Declan John should be in line for a starting berth at left-back at the New York Stadium.
Matt Grimes (CM)
The 23-year-old is a key cog in the middle of the park for the Swans with his range of passing and work-rate. A definite starter in one of the two pivot positions.
Jay Fulton (CM)
The Scotsman has looked in fine form in the past few games for the Welsh outfit and should pair up with Grimes in the midfield engine room against Rotherham.
Connor Roberts (RW)
The right-back has been used in an advanced position by the manager and he seems to be relishing the role. A constant threat with his runs, he should continue on the right wing.
Bersant Celina (CAM)
The summer arrival from Manchester City has the quality and the ability to open up defences with his vision and creativity. Is a certain starter in the No.10 role but needs to find a bit more consistency in his game.
Daniel James (LW)
The new kid on the blocks has been tearing apart full-backs in the recent games. Was absolutely unstoppable against Reading last weekend and deserves to continue in the starting line-up against Rotherham.

Oliver McBurnie (ST)
The Scotland international ended an eight-match run without a goal in the Championship this past weekend, scoring a double against Reading. Back in form, he should be leading the line for Swansea at the New York Stadium.
