Damian Lillard played his first game after returning from injury and led the Portland Trail Blazers to a crucial win over the Indiana Pacers. Lillard scored 21 points against the Pacers as both Anfernee Simons and Jeremi Grant contributed with 22 and 28 points each.
Both Simons and Grant have led the way for the Blazers in the absence of Damian Lillard and played well on his return as well. Jerami Grant has averaged 23.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 23 games this season. While Anfernee Simons has averaged 24.7 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.0 rebounds in 22 games this season.
Prior to his return Damian Lillard sent a message to Grant & Simons and said, “Don’t let me stop you from being aggressive, I’m going to have the ball in my hands and I’m going to find opportunities to do what I do. That’s what I do.”
He added, “If we’re really going to win, then it has to be collective, It’s really encouraging for me to see it really unfold.” The Blazers are currently 13-11 and have looked good when the entire team has been healthy. The Blazers will be up against the Denver Nuggets on December 8th and it is going to be a fascinating game between two great teams.
