Boston Celtics shock the Warriors and steal a huge comeback win in Game 1 of the NBA Finals

The Boston Celtics erased a double-digit deficit and went on to win game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors.

The Boston Celtics faced off against the Golden State Warriors to kickstart the NBA Finals. Game 1 was being played at the home court of the Warriors, and as usual, the home team started the game pretty well.

They led by double-digit points heading into the 4th quarter of the game, and everything was going pretty well for them. What happened next shocked the entire world. The Celtis went on a huge 40-16 run in the 4th quarter and snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.

It is very impressive because their best player Jayson Tatum didn’t have the best of the games. He scored just 12 points on 3/17 shooting, which is pretty bad considering his standards. His teammates stepped up when it mattered and saved the game for the Celtics.

Derrick White was sensational as he scored 21 points. Moreover Jaylen Brown scored 24 points, and Al Horford ended up with 26 points. The Celtics have put themselves in the driving seat for the rest of the series as they were able to get a huge win on road against a team who didn’t lose a single home game during these playoffs.

Stephen Curry’s valiant effort goes in vain against the Boston Celtics

The only positive that the Warriors can take after losing in such a shocking manner was the performance of Stephen Curry. The Celtics’ defense didn’t double team and guarded him on single coverage. As a result, Steph was able to have a field day.

Despite the loss, he ended up with a game-high total of 34 points, in which he shot 7/14 from the three-point range. Since he is getting back in form, Steph will be key to his team’s chances. The Warriors will look to bounce back pretty quick, or else the Celtics might run away with it.
