Anthony Davis led the Los Angeles Lakers to a huge win over the Brooklyn Nets, and head coach Darvin Ham was impressed by him.
The victory over the Brooklyn Nets last night gave the Los Angeles Lakers their third win of the season so far. Anthony Davis shone brightest as the team’s leader despite the absence of LeBron James during their match against Kevin Durant and company.
Anthony Davis finished the game with a season-high 37 points and 17 records while leading the Pelicans to a victory over the Nets. He was dominant throughout the contest. AD displayed a more aggressive side than we’ve seen from him in a long time, and it was nice to see it against the Nets.
After the game, head coach Darvin Ham discussed how Anthony Davis had reassured him that he would be able to lead the team even without the presence of LeBron James. Talking about it, Ham said, “Had a real good conversation with [Davis] after our last game, our last loss, And he just said, ‘I got your back, Coach.'”
He added, “And that was huge for me being a first-time head coach and having a player of that magnitude just constantly try and do everything you ask him to do.” Following the win over the Nets, the Lakers are now 3-8 and they will hope to continue this momentum going forward.
Anthony Davis needs to step up for this team on a regular basis because he is a special talent and this is his team. The return of LeBron James should elevate this Lakers team to a further level if AD continues to play like he did against the Nets.
