Ben Simmons made a big play to help the Nets to send the game into overtime, but they eventually ended up losing.
Ben Simmons has been heavily criticized for his performances on the court this season for the Brooklyn Nets, and he is still to find his older form after missing the entirety of last season. However, he did make a great play in the game against the Dallas Mavericks where he stole the ball at the end of regular time and passed it to Kevin Durant to tie the game.
Talking about that play, Skip Bayless said, “Ben Simmons just stole it from Luka – he has led the league in steals – and fed KD for the typing dunk with 8.8 left. Hey, he can still do THAT.”
After overtime, the Brooklyn Nets were defeated by the Dallas Mavericks by a score of 129-125, giving the Nets their fourth loss of the season. Even though both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant played exceptionally well for the Nets, they were unable to come out on top and win the game.
On the other hand, Luka Doncic single-handedly led his team to a victory that was extremely significant, while also recording a triple-double in the process. Doncic produced a triple-double against the Nets, finishing with 41 points, 11 assists, and 14 rebounds.
Ben Simmons ended up with just 7 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Noteworthy, he had three steals in this game. The Nets have a record of 1-4 to start the season after being defeated by the brilliant play of Luka Doncic, despite the fact that Kyrie Irving scored 39 points and Kevin Durant scored 37 points.
