James Wiseman of the Golden State Warriors was assigned to the G-League after a poor start to the season following his injury.

Golden State Warriors center James Wiseman hasn’t had a productive start this season and questions have been raised about him multiple times. He missed the entirety of the last season due to a knee injury, and following his return, he hasn’t been able to play well.

Due to it, the Warriors have assigned him to their G-League affiliate as they are hoping he will get enough play time there, which is required for him to get back in rhythm. So far this season, James Wiseman has averaged 6.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.0 assist in 11 games this season. He was drafted with the second overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and expectations are quite high for him. Although he has potential, Wiseman has failed to show it on the court so far.

Talking about it, James Wiseman said, “I don’t look at this as a demotion. I’m just ready to go out there and hoop.” Warriors head coach, Steve Kerr also talked about it and said, “He needs reps. He needs to play, It’s not easy when you don’t get minutes.”

Both James Wiseman and the Golden State Warriors will hope that the 2nd overall pick from the 2020 NBA Draft will prosper in his time in G-League and be ready to play in the NBA once again.
