Zion Williamson’s future had been the subject of a great deal of speculation up until this point. Last season he was unable to participate in even a single game for the New Orleans Pelicans because of various injuries.

As a direct consequence of this, numerous rumors have circulated regarding the possibility of the Pelicans extending Zion’s current contract or not. There had been conversations about the possibility of relocating away from New Orleans and to Zion. He has never been far removed from the New York Knicks, and the front office of that team is more than ready to welcome him aboard.

But as of right now, all of that has been put on hold. A maximum extension of five years was offered to Zion Williamson by the New Orleans Pelicans a couple of months ago, and he is now prepared to begin playing for them. Zion has reported that he is feeling better than he has in the past and has looked to be in pretty good shape throughout the training camp.

Talking about it Zion said, “I’ve never dealt with a layover like this. That’s a long time without playing the game. But my excitement level is through the roof, I’m just ready to get back on the court. My focus over the summer was just get back to playing shape, playing condition and honing my craft as usual. I feel like I’m at my best right now. I feel like I’m moving faster, jumping higher, I feel great.”

Hopefully, Zion will be able to show the world that he still is an elite player and prove all those people wrong who trolled him last season due to his injuries as the Pelicans are ready to make a huge leap this season.
