Damian Lillard is likely to retire with the Portland Trail Blazers as he wants to win a championship for them.

Damian Lillard’s future with the Portland Trail Blazers is an issue that has been discussed frequently throughout the years. There was speculation at the time of the Blazers’ trades of CJ McCollum and Norman Powell that the team might also attempt to move Damian Lillard.

But the Blazers rapidly rebuilt their team around star guard Damian Lillard, and Lillard has no intention of leaving. Anfernee Simons’ development as a star player was a key factor in the Blazers’ success.

Lillard has discussed his future with the Blazers recently. He has stated categorically that he has no plans to leave the Blazers, regardless of what anyone else may think.

Talking about it, Lillard said, “I want to win as a Trail Blazer. I want to win a championship where I am. I don’t think I would feel the same joy and happiness if I did it elsewhere. I would be happy, no doubt. Like winning a chip, you get that experience.”

“You got to be for your people”: Damian Lillard wants to show loyalty to the franchise that made him a star in the game

Lillard doesn’t want to leave the Portland Trail Blazers because he thinks being loyal to the franchise that drafted him and made him a star, and winning them a championship will be the best feeling ever.

Talking about it, Damian Lillard said, “The way I look at it is I grew up in that type of environment: You got to be for your family, you got to be for your people. That’s just what my family stood for. My dad, my mom, my brother, my cousins, and my grandparents, uncles, aunties:”

He added, “I’ve seen plenty of my family members have arguments and disagreements. There might have been a fight or whatever, but we were like this. Still, this to this day. So all I know is to roll with your own. Roll with your people.”

Lillard underwent surgery and didn’t play much last season. Now that he’s well again, he’ll be more focused than ever on helping his squad improve dramatically this year.

For the next season, the Portland Trail Blazers have assembled a very strong roster. The Blazers’ defense will be led by Josh Hart and Jeremi Grant, and its offense will be led by the backcourt of Antwon Simons and Damian Lillard.

The Western Conference this season is very strong. Lillard knows his team faces an uphill battle just to reach the postseason, but the star point guard has faith in their chances. The Blazers’ performance this season, with a healthy Damian Lillard and several new players who can have a significant effect, should be exciting to follow. The new season begins in a matter of days.

To this day, Damian Lillard has faith that his Portland Trail Blazers team can become NBA champions. Because of it, he has no intention of leaving the franchise, and success in this endeavour would mean a great deal to him.
