Kevin Durant got hot and destroyed the Detroit Pistons by scoring 26 points in the third quarter and 43 in the entire game.
Kevin Durant led the Brooklyn Nets to a 124-121 win over the Detroit Pistons. It was their sixth straight win, and have now won 10 of their last 11 games, with the only loss coming against the Boston Celtics.
Durant absolutely took over the game in the third quarter and scored 26 points in that quarter itself. He scored 43 points in the game and was helped by Kyrie Irving’s 38 points as well. KD shot 14/22 from the field and once again was efficient.
Speaking after the game, KD said, “I’m having fun, I’m knocking down some shots right now so I can’t compare, I try not to compare, but I feel mentally I’m getting better and I’m starting to understand the game on a different level than I did before.”
He added, “I just think mentally I understand the game a little bit more, I’m not too surprised by anything that’s thrown at me. I could say I’m on a different level mentality wise than I was as a younger player a few years ago. But I felt like I had some great stretches of basketball before, but this is pretty solid.”
With this win over the Detroit Pistons, the Brooklyn Nets are now 19-12 and look like a championship contender once again. Both Irving and Durant are enjoying basketball under new head coach Jacques Vaughn, and that is a great sight for all the Nets fans around the world.
