Zion Williamson recently signed a max-extension with the New Orleans Pelicans and wants to bring a championship to the city.
The future of Zion Williamson has been the subject of considerable uncertainty. He was unable to participate in any games for the New Orleans Pelicans last year due to injury.
As a result, there were lots of rumors about whether or not the Pelicans will extend Zion’s deal. There had been discussions about a possible move for Zion away from New Orleans. The New York Knicks have long been associated with him, and they would love nothing more than to have him join their team.
All of that, though, is currently at a standstill. Zion Williamson has signed a five-year, $231 million maximum extension from the New Orleans Pelicans, and despite his history of injuries, he will be compensated well.
Zion Williamson is very happy to be here and wants to achieve success with the team that drafted him. He said. “I’m not going to let this city down. I’m not going to let my family down. And most of all, I’m not going to let myself down. So, thank you.”
Zion Williamson was given the max extension on his birthday. He was very glad as he was able to get the best gift on his birthday. He talked about how life has changed for him since his last birthday.
Zion said, “On my birthday last year is when I found out I broke my foot and I was out the whole year. It was a tough year and then, for the Pelicans to come give me this birthday gift, I’m not going to let them down.“
With New Orleans Pelicans squad looking great, and Zion returning they can be a dark horse contender for the NBA Championship next season. Hopefully, Zion, Brandon Ingram, and CJ McCollum will be able to take them to the promised land.
