Los Angeles Lakers head coach Darvin Ham isn’t ruling the idea of playing Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley together.
Patrick Beverley was recently traded to the Los Angeles Lakers and it brought up a lot of questions about Russell Westbrook. Many thought that this will be the end of Westbrook at the Lakers because they don’t see Beverley and Westbrook playing together.
However, the Lakers head coach Darvin Ham isn’t ruling out the possibility of playing both the guards together in the lineup. This gave a further indication of Westbrook’s future with the franchise.
Talking about it, Darvin Ham said, “If they play defense. We’ve got a while. That’s still a ways off, but definitely. People get caught up in the starting lineups a lot, but you look at who is finishing games. Those starters, they’re out there to set that tone for the entire team throughout the game.”
He added, “But, I’m not scared of that, it’s definitely a bullet in the chamber. We’re looking forward to it, man, those guys in the backcourt together, man.”
Russell Westbrook trade rumors are still circling around the league, and it is possible that the former MVP will not be on the roster of the Lakers when the season starts. However, until then, the idea of Westbrook and Beverley sharing the backcourt for the Lakers seems like a very interesting one.
