Is Giannis injured? Will he be playing the next Bucks game?

Is Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo currently injured?

Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the best players in the NBA right now. The Milwaukee Bucks star is a multiple-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) winner as well as a former NBA Champion, and is widely regarded as one of the most complete players in the league at the moment.

The Greek Freak, as he has been named for his profile that combines size, speed and strength into an incredible package, is therefore extremely integral to the Milwaukee Bucks who have been on top form this season. The Bucks currently sit second on the Eastern Conference standings with a 41-17 record, and look well on course to make the post-season in style.

However, the Bucks have been dealt with a blow as Giannis seemed to have injured himself during the recently concluded NBA All-Star weekend. Giannis who seemed to be ever-present in the All-Star weekend at Utah, coaching Richard Jefferson’s team in the Celebrity All-Star Game – captained his own team in the All-Star Game.

Even though Team Giannis went on to win the annual midseason celebration, their captain had to leave the game mid-way through an injury. It was only nine minutes into the All-Star game that Giannis drove unencumbered for a dunk before intentionally fouling and exiting for good, wary of aggravating his wrist injury.

When is Giannis Antetokounmpo set to return to action?

As it turns out, Giannis will miss the Bucks’ clash against the Miami Heat in their final Eastern Conference outing.

Taking it day by day, try to get healthy,” Antetokounmpo said after the All-Star Game. “You know, obviously I had the incident three days ago. I don’t think it’s smart in any way to, you know, play a lot of minutes in the All-Star Game. At the end of the day, obviously, you want to participate, you want to run up and down, joke around, have some dunks, create some work. But at the end of the day, I feel you also have to be mature.”

While Antetokounmpo initially downplayed the extent of his injury, it was later revealed that he had torn some ligaments in his wrist. The Bucks will hope for him to return to action as soon as possible, as they aim to launch a proper bid for the Championship when the post-season begins.
