Zion Williamson scored 25 points in his first game back from injury as the Pelicans won against the Brooklyn Nets.
The New Orleans Pelicans showed the world that they are a team that can contend for the NBA championship this season as they outlasted the Brooklyn Nets 130-108 in their first game of the season.
Zion Williamson made his much-awaited return to action and he scored 25 points in his first game back for the Pelicans. Zion also had 9 rebounds, three assists, and four steals as the Pelicans looked in control throughout the game.
Apart from Zion Williamson, CJ McCollum and Brandon Ingram also scored 21 and 28 points respectively. The Brooklyn Nets had their big three playing but unfortunately, they fell short as Kevin Durant ended up as their top scorer with 32 points.
Speaking after the win against the Nets, Zion said, “Just playing the game I love, that I didn’t get to play for a long time…it was a breath of fresh air.” The Pelicans have a very good team, and with Zion Willaimson back, they can go all the way and surprise many this season.
