Ja Morant was fully confident about his team defeating the Golden State Warriors in the playoffs if he didn’t get hurt.
The Memphis Grizzlies led by Ja Morant took the biggest step of progression among all teams last season. They were a legit title contender and fought well against the Golden State Warriors in the 2nd round as well.
Ja Morant got injured against the Warriors, and due to it, the momentum shifted toward the Warriors and they went on to win the series and the championship. Had Morant stayed healthy, the story could have been very different for both teams.
Recently, Ja Morant talked about how he thought that the Grizzlies could have won the series against the Warriors if he didn’t get hurt. He discussed that his injury changed everything.
Talking about the matchup with the Warriors, Ja Morant said, “It was pretty much our year, but that injury cause me to be out, and now you have to change lineups and you know guys playing without me. I feel like that’s the most frustrating part for me. You know, being out there and not being able to compete.”
The Grizzlies still have a very good team and will be a championship contender this season. Hopefully, Ja Morant will continue to develop and become one of the best players in the world.
