Bam Adebayo was happy for his teammate Tyler Herro as he got a new four-year, $130 million contract extension.
The Miami Heat and Tyler Herro have agreed to a four-year, $130 million contract extension. After averaging 20.7 points per game for the team that finished as the top seed in the Eastern Conference, Herro was awarded the Sixth Man of the Year award.
In spite of the success, he had the previous year, Herro’s playoff performance was generally unsatisfactory. Because of the injuries, he was battling, he only managed to score 12.6 points per game on average. As a result, he missed much of the Eastern Conference Finals. The Boston Celtics were able to defeat Miami in that series.
After that, there were reports that Kevin Durant and Donovan Mitchell were interested in acquiring Herro as part of a trade. On the other side, Herro has made it abundantly obvious that he does not want to continue coming off the bench for the Miami Heat and that he wants to start instead.
Bam Adebayo, a player who is very important for the franchise also spoke after Herro was offered a new deal. He said, “It’s dope, I felt like he deserved it. He got his bread. It’s good to have him around for 5 more years. The future is bright.” “I told him welcome to the club of whatever we do wrong, it’s his fault.”
