Kyrie Irving is expected to get traded to the Los Angeles Lakers following the decision made by Kevin Durant.
Kevin Durant has handed in a trade request to the Brooklyn Nets. He is expected to leave the team in the coming days, and as a result, Kyrie Irving is also likely to move.
Recently, Irving opted into the final year of his contract with the Nets, and it looked like he was going to play there this season. However, all of that has been blown up by the decision made by Durant.
The Los Angeles Lakers, who were earlier interested in trading for Kyrie Irving, are now again leading the race to bring Kyrie to LA. The interest is mutual between Kyrie and the Lakers, and we can see it happening before the season starts.
The Lakers have made him the No. 1 priority this offseason, and with KD set to leave the Nets, Irving could well be on the Lakers to reunite with LeBron James.
A reunion for LeBron James and Kyrie Irving
LeBron James and Kyrie Irving were able to win a championship in Cleveland. If Kyrie ends up with the Lakers, there is a strong possibility that they can win another one together.
Kyrie, along with LeBron and Anthony Davis, will be lethal. However, nothing is confirmed yet, and we may see Kyrie making a different decision like last time. Hopefully, the situation will get sorted out soon enough for all parties involved.
We may see Russell Westbrook on a different team if Kyrie ends up on the Lakers, and it will be interesting to see where the former MVP ends up next season.
