The Los Angeles Lakers would love to have Patrick Beverley on board but aren’t willing to give up major assets for him.
The Los Angeles Lakers emerged as the favorites to land Patrick Beverley from the Utah Jazz. Beverley was part of the Rudy Gobert trade that saw him leave the Timberwolves to join the Jazz.
However, it’s very likely that Patrick Beverley will not play a single game for the Jazz. Even though the Lakers are interested in getting him, they won’t be splashing their coveted assets to get him.
According to Marc Stein, the Lakers aren’t willing to include Talen Horton Tucker in any package to acquire Patrick Beverley. As a result, a move for Beverley will take some time.
There is a possibility that Patrick Beverley will seek a buy-out from the Utah Jazz. He’ll become a free agent then, and the Lakers will have a great chance of landing him.
There is a mutual interest between both parties, and we can see this deal happening. However, it will all depend on how the Kyrie Irving situation gets handled first. He is the first priority for the Lakers, and other deals are likely to happen afterward.
