Does Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic have any body ink (tattoos)?
Luka Doncic, the 23-year-old Slovenian basketball prodigy, has been taking the NBA world by storm since his debut in 2018. Known for his exceptional skills on the court, Doncic is also quite popular for his tattoos. In this article, we’ll take a look at the tattoos that this basketball superstar has on his body.
Doncic has a total of seven tattoos, all of which we will discuss as follows. We can start off with his left forearm which has a large, majestic eagle on it. This tattoo is one of his most striking, as well as one of his most detailed, and highlights the fact that an eagle is a strong symbol of victory, freedom, wisdom, power, and confidence.
Being a known devout Christian, Doncic has the “All-Seeing Eye” inked on his left forearm as well. The Eye hints at his beliefs and shows his connection to faith. It also symbolizes clarity, guidance, and direction.
Another one of his significant tattoos include the Eurobasket along with 2017 written in Roman numerals on the right side of his body. The ink is significant because it commemorates the year his country Slovenia managed to win the Gold Eurobasket.
Doncic is known to have four more tattoos, one of which is on his back.
Another one of Doncic’s most detailed tattoos is the portrait he has on the top right side of his back. The picture is a pirate skull with two smaller pirate ships on either side of it. The pirate skull symbolises freedom, his love of travel, as well as his proclivity for loyalty, courage, and general wanderlust.
Doncic also has the lucky number seven inked alongside palm leaves and a creative moon tattoo. This design is special to Luka because 7 is his favorite number. Not only is it what he wore when he first burst on the scene with Real Madrid, he also wore 77 for both the Mavericks and the Slovenian National Team. For him, the more 7’s the better.
Doncic’s left forearm also hosts a tiger tattoo which symbolises pride, freedom, ferocity, and independence. However, for Doncic it’s much more casual than that as he has been quoted saying he got it just because he likes tigers.
Lastly, Doncic has the Latin Phrase “Non-desistas/Non-exieris” on the inner side of his left wrist. Unlike his other ones, this is a written phrase. It means Never Give Up/Never Surrender. It symbolises Doncic’s determination and his ability to fight his way past anything. It is certainly worth keeping a tab on his evolving set of body ink as his tattoos represent all the qualities Doncic associates with himself.
