Andrew Wiggins led the Warriors to a huge win in Game 5 against the Boston Celtics, as the Warriors now lead by 3-2 in the NBA finals.
The Golden State Warriors took down the Boston Celtics in game 5 of the NBA finals, and it was a huge win for them. They now lead the series by 3-2 and have an opportunity to close the Celtics out in Game 6.
In a game where Stephen Curry didn’t have the best of nights for the Warriors, it was Andrew Wiggins who stepped up. Wiggins ended up with 26 points, and also had 13 rebounds.
His defense on Jayson Tatum was out of the world. Wiggins has continued to limit Tatum’s ability on the offensive end, and that has been a big factor in the Warriors’ success.
Players and fans on Twitter came out to show their appreciation towards Andrew Wiggins, who had arguably the best game of his career so far. He has been a very important player for the Warriors throughout the playoffs, and everybody is giving him flowers.
After the match, Draymond Green in his press conference spoke about Andrew Wiggins. He claimed that he knew Wiggins will turn out to be a big player for them.
Draymond said, “When he first came, I’ll never forget Thibs, when wasn’t with the Knicks, he was like, ‘You’re going to love him. He competes. He defends. Jimmy loved him.’ We all know how Jimmy Butler is. If you have any softness to you, Jimmy don’t like you.”
Tom Thibodeau was the head coach of the TWolves when Jimmy Butler and Andrew Wiggins played there. Butler is a strong competitor and everyone knows if he likes someone on the court, that certainly means the player is a hard worker who is willing to help his team, and Wiggins turned out exactly like that.
