HomeSports News3x DPOY Winner Rudy Gobert is traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves from the Utah Jazz

Rudy Gobert is sent to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a huge trade between the Utah Jazz and the TWolves.

Rudy Gobert, the center for the Utah Jazz, has been traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a grand exchange that would team him with fellow All-Star big man Karl-Anthony Towns.

According to sources, the Timberwolves will trade the Jazz four first-round picks, the 22nd pick (Walker Kessler), Leandro Bolmaro, Patrick Beverley, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Malik Beasley. In Danny Ainge’s first franchise-altering transaction since taking over as the Jazz’s CEO midseason, sources claim Utah will get unprotected picks in 2023, 2025, and 2027 as well as a top-five protected pick in 2029.

The Jazz intends to restructure their roster around Donovan Mitchell, the 25-year-old All-Star guard from Utah, and have acquired a total of six first-round picks in the past 24 hours.

The second season of Gobert’s five-year, $205 million deal is about to begin. Towns has a total commitment of $295 million over six years and signed to a four-year, $224 million supermax deal at midnight on Friday, the first time he was eligible.

How will Rudy Gobert make the Minnesota Timberwolves a better team?

The Minnesota Timberwolves gave away a lot of land to the French Eiffel Tower for Rudy Gobert. The question now arises: how will Gobert make this Wolves team better than it was last season?

The answer is pretty simple. The Wolves will pair up Gobert with Karl Anthony Towns. Gobert will play at the center position, while KAT will be the power forward for this team.

It will enable KAT to focus on the offensive side of the game, while Gobert will be there to protect the rim and anchor things defensively. It’ll help to elevate the game of Karl Anthony Towns to the next level, and the Minnesota Timberwolves are all in on it.
