Renowned analyst Shannon Sharpe came to Steph Curry’s defense as he brought up a reason the Golden State Warriors superstar is not considered being in the same conversation as basketball and rated him as one of his top 10 players of all time.
Speaking on a new episode of Undisputed: Skip and Shannon, Sharpe put forward an argument that the only reason that Curry is “discounted” from the conversation of being in the very top tier of basketball players in history is because of his height when compared to most of the all-time greats.
Sharpe began his argument by stating examples of some of the all-time greats such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Russell Westbrook, Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson all of whom were listed at above 6 feet and 6 inches.
Sharpe also said that the only man listed under 6 feet and 6 inches and to be ranked in the top 10 in the last 30 years was Oscar Robinson, who measured at 6 feet and 5 inches an argument which further proved his statement saying “we have always gravitated towards the big guy.”
WHAT MAKES STEPHEN CURRY ONE OF A KIND?
Sharpe followed up his argument with a well-known claim about Steph Curry’s shooting technique being one of the greatest ever on a basketball court. Despite standing at 6 feet and 2 inches much shorter than most of the all-time greats has often been known to make jaws drop with his outrageous shooting from deep, and his personal accolades speak for itself.
As put forward by Sharpe himself, Curry is one of the few six players in NBA history to have won four Championship rings, two regular season MVPs, a finals MVP a narrative that places him alongside five of the absolute greats of the game in Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Magic Johnson and Tim Duncan.
Sharpe cemented his argument of Curry not being rated as much as he should have been if he was one of the biggest people in the game with a barrage of facts and few fans would dare disagree with his opinion.
