When Damar Hamlin collapses from Monday Night Football’s Cincinnati Bengals vs Buffalo Bills contest, the sporting world in general was concerned about his health and well-being. However, there was one particular sports media personality who could not get over the fact that the concerned game was suspended.
If you haven’t guessed it by now – then take no further chances as it is no one else but Skip Bayless, who in his tweet, “No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game – but how? This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant.”
This is just what triggered former NBA player Kendrick Perkins as he simply could not tolerate such views coming out of a person working in the same field. As a result of this, the former teammate of LeBron James and Kevin Durant went on to slam Bayless as a sick individual.
That being said, it is true that the decision to postpone the Buffalo Bills vs. Cincinnati Bengals game would have scheduling implications, but then again, that’s really the least of the NFL’s worries with a player in serious condition. While we have seen players suffering from concussion injuries in the past, Damar Hamlin’s scary injury makes matters completely different.
Nothing is more important than a person’s life, and Bayless could have been more sensitive with his remarks. This is perhaps just Kendrick Perkins labeling him ‘sick.’ Which would’ve been the words of many in and around the NFL world as well.
