Shaquille O’Neal is a firm believer in the Los Angeles Lakers. The four-time NBA Champion recently admitted to having no idea about who Rui Hachimura was before the 17-time NBA Champions acquired him. Citing that Shaq is all about stats he cited that Rui hasn’t done anything for anyone to take notice of him.
Given that Hachimura has a good height, the 9th overall pick in the 2019 draft has been inconsistent during his 3-year stint with the Washington Wizards. During a viral clip that went from Inside the NBA, Shaq spoke the harsh truth about Rui Hachimura.
Diesel said, “Let me clarify, Albert Einstein said things you can get access to you should never memorize. If you ain’t a top 10 player, I don’t know who you are, that’s no disrespect. How am I supposed to know who the kid was?”
Shaquille O’Neal on Rui Hachimura
Hachimura averaged just over 13 points per game in his career. Furthermore, he has never played even 60 games in a single season for the Wizards in either of his 3 years with them.
O’Neal concluded, “I’ve never seen this kid play… I wish him well, I hope they do well but I didn’t know who he was I’m sorry… I’m not watching the Bullets or the Wizards. I’m not watching them.”
Now Hachimura has the perfect opportunity to leave his presence in the league. He has been acquired by the Lakers at the cost of PG, Kendrick Nunn and three two-round picks.
