Stephen A Smith recently said that LeBron James will not win another title with the Los Angeles Lakers
On a recent NBA Countdown episode, Stephen A Smith said LeBron James wouldn’t win another NBA championship In Los Angeles. Smith further said that the Los Angeles Lakers should trade the 2027 and 2029 first-round picks to stay competitive. He believes that the Lakers should be thinking about this season and the next rather than 2027 and 2029.
Smith listed several variables and said that people don’t know what will happen in 5 years. Michael Wilbon went on to say that even if the Lakers trade their picks, the return won’t push them into the top 10 of the Western Conference.
There’s a lot of debate brewing whether LeBron James will stay with the Los Angeles Lakers. This is fair as James has always been ready to move teams to win championships. He did it when he moved to the Miami Heat and in his subsequent return to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
It will be interesting to see how the Lakers saga surrounding LeBron James unfolds. If LeBron James is traded will it be a decision made by James or the team?
It is very unlikely that LeBron James is traded this season. If a trade takes place, it is more likely to be because James wants to be traded. The Lakers are in win-now mode and are doing everything they can to make the playoffs.
It’s highly unlikely that James leaves the Lakers this season but it’s not impossible. As the Lakers lose more and more games, the pressure will build to make a radical move. Whether this move is to rebuild is something we have to wait and see.
