Golden State Warriors star forward Andrew Wiggins reacts to the teams’ current sloppy form, he shares his thought on Bay area Radio
Golden State Warriors had a great run in the starting phase of the season. They were the team to beat along with the Suns and some Eastern top teams. But since their loss to the Mavericks, The Warriors seemed losing their scoring touch. Andrew Wiggins shared his thoughts on the Dubs local Radio show.
He said, “Its’ time to get back on track. We went through a little rough patch, and now it’s time to get back on track.” He expects the scoring mojo to be back from the 7-home game series. The Warriors have home games against low-ranked teams like the Pistons, Pacers, Rockets.
After a string of easier games, they will host the Jazz, Mavs, Timberwolves, and the Nets. The Series also seems to be perfectly aligned for them as they can get back on winning ways – irrespective of points scored before tougher teams visits.
Andrew Wiggins and Warriors Scoring Slump in last few games
The Golden State Warriors is a very balanced team in reality. They have good defensive players in Green, Kuminga, Iguodala, and Looney (to some extent), while very offensive lineup with Curry, Wiggins, Thompson, and Poole. And their specialist offensive or defensive players can contribute in other areas also.
They managed around 110 points per game before the last 8 games. But since their game against the Mavs, they averaged 104.4 points (including huge 138 points against the Bulls). If we remove the game against the Bulls, then the Warriors couldn’t even get to the three-digit mark.
As for the guest of the show, Andrew Wiggins managed to reach his season average of 19 points just 3 times in the last 8 games. To be fair to him, he now has lesser shots since Klay’s return. The team will need to shuffle a bit and the 3-time NBA Champion team will be able to adapt to the new formations and dynamics.
They have started the home game series with a 102-86 win over the Pistons. Wiggins managed 19 points, while Klay scored game-high 21 points.
