The Portland Trail Blazers have given their rising star Anfernee Simons a contract based on his performance last season.
The Portland Trail Blazers didn’t have a good season last year. When Damian Lillard got injured, they decided to blow up their squad. They traded away some key players and brought in young talent and drafted capital.
The only bright moment of last season for the Blazers was the performance of Anfernee Simons. He stepped up when the team needed him and solidified himself as a starter on this team alongside Damian Lillard.
As a reward, Simons is offered a lucrative extension by the team, and the franchise sees him as a part of their future alongside Lillard and others.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN: Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons has agreed on a four-year, $100 million contract extension, his agent Bill Duffy of @BDA_Sports + WME Sports tells ESPN.
The Portland Trail Blazers have made some exciting additions to their roster for the upcoming season. The likes of Anfernee Simons, Josh Hart, Jusuf Nurkic, and Damian Lillard were already on the roster.
Now they have added Jeremi Grant and Gary Payton II to their team, and that will improve their defense a lot. The Blazers might be gearing up for something special next season, and only time will tell whether these moves were good or not.
