The Los Angeles Lakers have made a strong push without their best player in the first 25 games of the 2022-23 season. Having last stepped on the court on December 16 against the Denver Nuggets, AD has been sitting out as his Purple and Gold team has fought their hearts out on the NBA court. Looking at their effort, the latest update suggests that the concerned player could return well before expected.
Anthony Davis was easily playing at an MVP level just for the entirety of the six games before he sustained an injury. To justify this claim – know that the 8-time All-Star was averaging 33.7 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game.
As per ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, there is a growing hope in the Lakers’ dugout that Anthony Davis is just weeks away from making his return to the court. AD s going to begin his rehab soon and could well return in just a couple of weeks.
According to Dave, “There is optimism within the Lakers that the ramp-up process could take only a couple of weeks before Davis could start penciling in a potential return to game action.”
It wasn’t only the mentioned six-game stretch where Davis was sensational. But when he was on the court, he was leading the team in scoring ahead of LeBron James as many thought this could finally be the year when AD fulfills his true potential.
That being said, ‘The Brow’ is currently averaging 27.4 points, 12.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.1 blocks per game. Furthermore, Davis is also shooting 59.4% from the field and 29.0% from behind the arc.
