Anthony Davis is back after he suffered a stress injury in his right foot. He was not included in the roster from December 16th but before that he was building a wonderful season for himself.
He averaged 32.4 points, shooting with a percentage of 64.1 percent during a 13-game span before his injury. The Lakers had to bear a principal loss in the absence of Anthony Davis as other than Lebron James, the team was not able to find a rhythm to lead Lakers to victory.
“I feel good. It will always take time. I was out five and a half weeks. Even though I played well, I’m starting to get my rhythm back, it’ll still get some time to get back to where I wanna be, where I was,” Anthony Davis said after his 3rd game after comeback.
“As long as we keep winning, none of that matters how I’m playing. It’s all about wins right now. Especially when we’re trying to move up to the rankings,” he added.
Although, the Lakers seem to be one of the most inconsistent teams in the NBA this season. Russell Westbrook has tried holding the fort down with LeBron James. Russ shined in overtime against the New York Knicks, helping Lebron and Anthony Davis find a cheerful result in their upsetting season.
Anthony Davis added while praising his teammate, “Russ came ready to play. As a professional, he’s always ready. He’s always staying ready. He always got his mind on the game.”
“He was able to come in in the fourth quarter, make some plays especially in the overtime, just kinda lead us to the win. Whether it’s a layup, dump-off pass to Bron, cutting, whatever it is. Big time to Russ.”
Anthony Davis was recently snubbed out of the All-Star reserves selection. The big man did not seem happy with the Western Conference results as he was happily rolling through the scoreboard before his injury.
