Minnesota Timberwolves have finally managed to find some consistency in the 2022-23 season after being led by Anthony Edwards in Karl Anthony Towns’ absence. However, the young stud has been dealing with a lingering hip injury for some time and with the Phoenix Suns lined up against them next, many are wondering if Edwards could be a part of the same contest.
As per the official injury report of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Rudy Gobert might have to step on the court without Anthony Edwards as he has been ruled questionable to play for Friday’s showdown against the Suns due to a sore left hip. Although the mentioned injury is not serious, the Timberwolves would like to take no chance as they are already without Karl Anthony Towns for the time being.
Phoenix Suns, who are looking at their most vulnerable, will also not be at their best. Stars like Chris Paul, Devin Booker, and Deandre Ayton have all been ruled questionable.
Don’t let his questionable status fool you just yet. For those who are not aware, Edwards was also tagged as questionable prior to Wednesday’s loss against the Detroit Pistons. However, showing his true mentality, the 21-year-old played through the pain, and he finished with 20 points, one rebound, and six assists in the 135-118 blowout loss.
Edwards was actually ruled out at one point in the game, but he was eventually able to return. But will that be the case of Friday? Remains to be seen.
