The Nets GM gave an update on Ben Simmons
Ben Simmons hasn’t played basketball for a year now and his return is still not clear. The star point guard was traded from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Brooklyn Nets along with Seth Curry and Andre Drummond which saw James Harden going the other way.
The Brooklyn Nets have been missing key players throughout the season and now Ben Simmons is one of them.
He had a horror show in last year’s playoffs which led to the Philadelphia crowd and team turning against him which ultimately led to his departure from the team.
He has high expectations here in Brooklyn as many people around the league believe that he is a better fit for the Nets than James Harden.
Ben is a big and strong point guard who is one of the best defenders of the league and also one of the best passers in the league which will definitely help the team who has the likes of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving who can take care of the scoring.
Brooklyn Nets General Manager Sean Marks gave an update on the condition of Ben and said, “He’s just doing some light shooting and just physical therapy,”
“Unfortunately his back stiffness has delayed his ability to get on the court”- Sean Marks on Ben Simmons
Sean Marks further talked about the health and conditioning of Ben Simmons and said, “Unfortunately his back stiffness has delayed his ability to get on the court with his teammates. so he’s been rehabbing this last sort of week to 10 days,”
He added, “Although there’s no real timetable, we’ve got to take it day by day and see how he responds. And hopefully sooner the better. We need to get this group together and get minutes together on the court.”
Everyone knows the quality that Ben Simmons brings to the table and when he gets on the court with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, there is no doubt that the Brooklyn Nets will be one the leading contenders to win the Championship.
