Kevin Durant’s latest comments have brought up massive comparisons with the NBA legend LeBron James
The Brooklyn Nets are in deep trouble. They are having one of the worst seasons in the franchise’s history. The Nets are at (6-9) and stand 12th in the Eastern Conference. Further, they also fired their head coach Steve Nash a few weeks back. Kyrie Irving is suspended because of his alleged antisemitic tweet and the Nets are marred with injury problems. Nothing seems to work out for the Nets and with every passing day, the troubles of Nets are growing deeper.
Moreover, on Tuesday night, the Nets suffered a monumental 153-121 loss against the Sacramento Kings. The Kings scored the most points ever in 29 years. Among all these muddles, only Kevin Durant is standing out and is performing consistently. Against the Kings, when all his teammates struggled, Durant put up a valiant effort of 27 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds.
However, Durant is growing frustrated with every passing day. His recent interview with Bleacher Report at least indicates that way.
In the Bleacher Report interview, the two-time Finals MVP bared it all. Durant explained his offseason trade request, coaching frustrations, how he feels as a leader, and many more.
One of the significant statements that Durant made during the interview was, “Look at our starting lineup. Edmond Sumner, Royce O’Neale, Joe Harris, [Nic] Claxton and me. It’s not disrespect, but what are you expecting from that group?” Durant asked of B/R. “You expect us to win because I’m out there. So if you’re watching from that lens, you’re expecting us to play well because No. 7 is out there.” (h/t: Bleacher Report)
Durant also explained why he requested a trade. KD told B/R, “…when we’re all playing like s–t, you know the one person they’re going to look at. That’s why I requested a trade.” (h/t: Bleacher Report)
As per the current situation of the Nets, Durant might or might not stay with the Nets. It is no doubt that KD is a phenomenal player who can play anywhere in the league.
Outside of the Nets, if the situation arises, all the other NBA franchises will be eagerly looking to trade for KD.
Meanwhile, KD’s explosive comments have brought up huge comparisons between LeBron James and Kevin Durant.
What is the comparison that is brought up between Kevin Durant and LeBron James?
The rivalry between LeBron James and Kevin Durant is not something that is new. Both the players might have respect for each other but they are fierce competitors on the court.
Naturally, Durant’s recent interview has caused quite a stir among both NBA star fans.
On Twitter, there is an ongoing debate about the 2018 LeBron James vs. today’s Kevin Durant.
Take a look at the tweet:
Notably, according to KD’s recent interview, Durant seems to be blaming his teammates and the management for the Nets’ current failure.
On the other hand, in 2018, LeBron James won the Eastern Conference Finals with a lackluster roster. In 2018, LBJ then played for the Cleveland Cavaliers and just had Kevin Love, J.R. Smith, and Tristan Thompson to help him. King James still made it to the NBA Finals without any big names.
This contrast has become the source of comparison. While KD is complaining, LBJ almost won a championship.
Twitter users were quick to react to the comparisons. Here are some reactions of the fans.
The fans might have varying opinions but both LBJ and KD are legendary in their own rights and they are obviously seeking what is best for them.
