Bogdan Bogdanovic fined: Atlanta Hawks guard given $25,000 fine for punting ball into crowd

Bogdan Bogdanovic was fined after the game against Brooklyn Nets. While, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant were determined to bash 28 and 26 points respectively, Bogdanovic’s frustration was transparent.

The Atlanta Hawks guard is averaging 17.4 points per game with 3.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists. He has been fined $25,000 by the NBA committee as he kicked the game ball into the spectator stands after the final buzzer of the game. Brooklyn Nets, who sit at the top 3rd seed of the Eastern Conference won 108-107 against the 9th seed Atlanta Hawks.

The NBA Head of Basketball Operations and Executive Vice President, Joe Demars announced, “Atlanta Hawks guard Bogdan Bogdanovic has been fined $25,000 for kicking the game ball into the spectator stands. The incident occurred at the conclusion of the Hawks’ 108-107 loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Dec.28 at State Farm Arena.”

Bogdan Bogdanovic signed a four-year, $72 million deal with the Atlanta Hawks in 2020. Hence, the fine would not make a difference in Bogdan’s pocket. His frustration came out after Dejounte Murray missed his three-point attempt in the final seconds of the game.

Brooklyn Nets secured their 10th consecutive victory in the NBA. They thumped Atlanta Hawks 108-107 after a brilliant performance by Kyrie Irving in the second half. What made it worse what Bogdan Bogdanovic’s aggression at the end of the game.

Nets went 27-17 in the third quarter as Kyrie posted 28 points with 5 rebounds and 8 assists. On the other hand, Bogdan could only see through 14 points with just 2 rebounds and 3 assists. The Hawks were frustrated by their gameplay which perhaps resulted in Bogdanovic being fined.
