Bradley Beal will be staying with the Washington Wizards and becoming the highest-paid player of the upcoming NBA Season.
Bradley Beal will be signing a massive five-year, $251 million contract with the Washington Wizards. He will be the highest-paid player in the league next season. Beal had missed the entirety of the previous campaign due to wrist surgery, and he will hope to make a strong comeback.
Despite being an All-Star for Washington in three of the previous four seasons, Beal has reached the playoffs just once in the last four seasons. After years of rumors over his future, he has made the decision to sign a long-term contract with the Wizards.
Using a player option he negotiated into a contract extension in 2020, Beal formally opted out of it on Wednesday. But despite that, he continued to reside in Washington. It merely enabled him to agree to a new contract at his true maximum pay, maximizing his earnings while playing with the Wizards.
Beal himself has expressed his unhappiness with the Wizards’ one postseason appearance over the previous four seasons. He has, however, made it obvious that he intends to play a key role in Washington’s eventual turnaround. The team has added up some good pieces around him, and hopefully, they’ll have a good run next season.
Bradley Beal will have good players around him next season
The Washington Wizards have added some good pieces to their squad that can help them make a push toward the playoffs. With Bradley Beal returning next season, Kyle Kuzma and Kristaps Porzingis will play a huge role in their run.
They also added Monte Morris and Will Barton from the Denver Nuggets, and they will be valuable players for this Wizards team. Hopefully, Beal will be able to lead them from the front and justify the money offered to him in this huge contract.
