BREAKING: Los Angeles Lakers acquire Rui Hachimura from Washington Wizards

Published by

Although Rui Hachimura did not exactly request a trade out of Washington Wizards but he clearly mentioned the current position of the team, which was demoralizing him. As a result of that, the Japanese International has been traded away to the Los Angeles Lakers right before the trade deadline day.

Rui Hachimura

While the Los Angeles Lakers are clearly shorthanded with Austin Reaves, Lonnie Walker IV, and Anthony Davis, Rob Pelinka has just added to the team’s overall strength by acquiring Rui Hachimura. The Purple and Gold are gradually pulling up their pace and chasing the playoff berths after a lackluster 2-10 start. And this move could surely be a step in the right direction.

Given that if the Lakers coach Hachimura in the right manner, he can be a great asset not only on the offensive end but can even allow Thomas Bryant and Gabriel to play in a much more diverse role.

Rui Hachimura sent to the Lakers

The Lakers are trying to get better every game, and with the addition of Hachimura, they have a bigger to extend their winning streak. This move could work wonders for them, but we still need to wait and see if Rui becomes what they need, especially with Thomas Bryant becoming just the ideal player who can improve the squad alongside LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, and Dennis Schroder.

That being said, will Rui be able to add to his upward trajectory now that he is part of an entirely different squad? Remains to be seen.
