Brian Windhorst doesn’t believe LeBron James’ LA Lakers will do well with Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook

Patrick Beverley’s trade to the Los Angeles Lakers has caused plenty of speculation over whether he will be a good fit for the franchise – and Brian Windhorst has become the latest to give his opinion.

LeBron James

The former Minnesota Timberwolves man’s trade to the Los Angeles Lakers this summer has been met with mixed reviews.

While some people have said that he will be a good fit for the Lakers, some people have argued on the contrary – that Beverley will not do particularly well with the number of superstars that the Lakers already have on their roster for this season.

Brian Windhorst, an American sportswriter who covers the NBA for ESPN is one of those naysayers who have argued for the latter, as he has gone on to say that there is no way that LeBron James will work out with the pair of Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook and he does not see the Los Angeles Lakers doing particularly well in the upcoming season.

What did Windhorst have to say about James not being able to do well with Beverley and Westbrook?

To put it simply, Windhorst does not think that James will do particularly well with the pair of Beverley and Westbrook in the team.

Russell Westbrook

Speaking on an ESPN talk show, Windhorst said that in no circumstance does he think it will work out for LeBron James with Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook backing him up for the Lakers this season.

When ESPN put up a graphic of the notable back courts for the upcoming NBA season according to Matt Barnes, Windhorst vehemently disagreed as he said: “I’m still trying to get over the fact that Beverley and Westbrook were put in a graphic for the notable back courts for the upcoming season.”

Windhorst sounded very convinced when he asked the former NBA player: “Matt Barnes, you can not look me in the eye with a straight face and tell me that back court will work in any circumstance in 2022. You can’t tell me LeBron James will do well in that back court.”
