Bronny James and several other basketball players were rushed off the court after a gun warning was sounded at a high school basketball game this weekend. LeBron James’ eldest son who plays for Sierra Canyon High School along with his teammates as well as his opponents were forced off the court after a fight broke out in the crowd and a gun warning was sounded.
Sierra Canyon went up against DeMatha Catholic just out of Washington D.C. on Saturday night in a high school basketball game. The Trail Blazers featuring none other than LeBron James’ eldest son in the 18-year-old Bronny were up against their opponents in what was a competitive affair, but the game was soon cut short after an incident in the audience caused utter chaos.
It was during the game that a physical altercation broke out in the audience, and it was not too long before someone heard a person shout “gun” in the crowd. Chaos immediately took over in the stands, and the players from both teams had to evacuate the court as a precautionary procedure. Several videos that were posted to social media showed the chaos that ensued, including the players on the court running for safety.
Despite intensive searches, no gun was found in the stands.
Upon immediate police intervention, no firearm was found in the audience despite intensive searches following the incident. Officials told TMZ Sports that following a “thorough search,” they did not find a firearm and that no one was injured as a result of the incident.
However, the game did not resume as both teams decided that it was better to not risk the health of anyone involved. According to TMZ Sports, the head coach of DeMatha Catholic said that both teams opted not to resume the game “out of an abundance of caution.”
