Chandler Parsons savagely downplays Yuta Watanabe’s credentials for the 3-Point contest

Yuta Watanabe was a ‘nobody’ during his time with the Toronto Raptors as he struggled to make an impression on the team coach. However, since being traded to the Brooklyn Nets, the Japanese International has made a great name for himself not only for his clutch gene but by being a trustworthy shooter from downtown.

Although he is far from being a household name in the sport yet there is no denying that the 28-year-old star can easily be handed his credentials to get the deserved limelight. One such occasion could be the 3-Point contest which can feature Yuta Watanabe against some of the other elite 3-Point shooters. Who knows what the Nets sensation might pull out? However, if you were to believe Chandler Parsons, it is too early.

When Chandler Parsons was inquired about the potential inclusion of Watanabe in the 3-Point contest, he responded, “You can’t put that man in the 3-point Contest… I think he would buckle severely under pressure.”

In other words, Chandler Parsons is confident that the Nets swingman would fail miserably if the league decided to invite him for the 3-point contest. While not many expected any good from Yuta in the 2022-23 season, he has been the third-best scoring option by far for the side behind Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. He might not give them a 40-point night but his contribution has been relatively consistent since the beginning.
