Portland Trai Blazers started the 2022-23 season in sparkling fashion when they were at the top of the Western Conference standings. However, things went downhill for Damian Lillard and co. when injuries took place. As a result of which, they are now not even in the Play-In Tournament picture approaching 2023 All-Star Game. Upon which Chauncey Billups got candid.

On one hand, where the team hasn’t been able to consistently register wins, Damian Lillard is having one of the best seasons of his career. Now with the trade deadline approaching, there have been people urging the marquee scorer to part ways with his beloved win.

Ahead of the game against Atlanta Hawks on Monday, coach Chauncey Billups got candid on how the city of Portland feels about Damian Lillard. “He’s one of a kind. We understand how lucky we are to have him. Everyone in this city, and on this team, wants to win for Dame.”

It’s clear that the city of Portland wants to help Damian Lillard deliver a championship, but they have failed to build a contender so far. Even with a core of Dame, Anfernee Simons, Jusuf Nurkic, and Jerami Grant this season, the Portland Trail Blazers still aren’t ready to compete at the highest level. But who knows, what Dame could really pull in the business end of the 202-23 season.

But on the other hand, will Lillard be tempted enough to make a switch to another team?
