The No.2 Overall Draft Pick Chet Holmgreen balled out in his debut for the Oklahoma City Thunder against the Utah Jazz.
Chet Holmgreen, who was the 2nd overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft, made his much anticipated Summer League debut with the Oklahoma City Thunder against the Utah Jazz. It is fair to say, in just one game, he proved many people wrong.
There were continuous doubts about his size and strength, and that he wouldn’t be able to play well in the NBA, but he absolutely balled out for his team in his debut. Even though it’s just the summer league, everyone is excited after seeing Chet’s performance.
Chet scored 23 points, had 7 rebounds, and made 6 blocks. Moreover, he had four assists and one steal. He converted four three-pointers as well, and he just completely dominated the entire game.
He broke the record of most blocks in a single summer league. He claimed that he will be looking to break it again in further games ahead.
In just his first game with the team, Chet Holmgreen has shown that he is a generational talent. He showed glimpses of Dirk Nowitzki in his gameplay, as he was shooting those one-legged fadeaway shots.
Everyone around Oklahoma City is excited to have Chet playing for their team. Hopefully, he’ll be able to fulfill the promise of his potential and become a franchise-changing player.
