When LeBron James joined the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018, there were major expectations from the King to lead the young core in Hollywood to a championship. However, things were changed in an instance when Anthony Davis was brought in alongside LeBron. Eventually this team won the championship in Frank Vogel’s debut Head Coach stint.
Having helped the team to one NBA Championship, Chris ‘Mad Dog’ Russo feels that LeBron might just leave the depleted Purple and Gold team but the 38-year-old should not leave them before winning another championship.
While LeBron James is averaging more than 25 points once again even in his 20th season, the Lakers have failed to support him yet again. Moreover, Anthony Davis who was playing at an MVP level, has been ruled out for an indefinite time period leaving Bron out in the open.
Chris Russo on LeBron James
The NBA Analyst stated on the latest episode of First Take, “One thing about LeBron, you can’t go join a heavyweight team now. You left the Cavs, you left the Heat, you left the Cavs, you go to the Lakers. You’ve made your bed with the Lakers. If you win one, it’s gotta be in L.A., I don’t think people are going to get that wrapped up if he goes joins Curry somewhere and they go win a championship together.”
LeBron James has made it crystal clear on how he wants to still compete for the championship and is not coming out on the basketball court for the sake of it. But if he chooses to move out of Hollywood, it will be interesting to see where he heads next.
